Teleconferencing Getting organized for the Economic Development Summit conference certainly is easier with electronics. The case in point was a teleconference where all of the participants in the "Industry and Emerging Technologies" panel were able to call into a bridge line to discuss the agenda. Using this type of technology not only saves time and gas, but also helps focus the discussion. In seems that sometimes narrowing the bandwidth actually improves the quality of the communications. Speaking softly can get people to listen more carefully. The panelists are prepared to deliver short overviews of their ventures. These include two new manufacturing businesses locating in Calaveras County, one home-grown new business, and one new education and training program soon to be available in Calaveras County. The Summit is at Bret Harte High School on July 11 starting at 7:30am. Registration is $25 and you can pay at the door.
